First time, Worst and bad experience with SBI Bank.
Today I went to Chromepet, Chennai SBI branch to deposit Rs. 8,500/- in my savings account. While giving the slip at the counter, to my surprise I received a new order that below Rs.10,000/- shall not deposited in the counter and shall be deposited outside service provider. To my shock, I understood that he would charge Rs. 100/- for every transaction. To avoid this, I condemned the procedure and without any other immediate way, I deposited Rs. 10,500/- in my account.
Branch Manager also confirmed the same thing and has been followed as per the bank instruction. SBI has slowly started to implement this method branch by branch. They say to avoid crowd at the counters this procedure has been implemented.
To my view, purely this is the inefficiency of SBI system.
To avoid this, we could use only net transfer or green swipe counter.
Surely this would affect the low end people who all will not have first of all own system, net connectivity and the system knowledge. Even if anyone deposits, Rs. 500/- they have to pay Rs. 100/- as service charge.
I will register a compliant. Intention behind posting this message is to share the information across the country.
Pls share this without any hesitation and condemn the SBI new procedure until they withdraw.
